Summer Term 2
And so the final half-term of Year 1 is upon us. The year seems to have rushed by as we have been so busy learning, gaining greater independence and experiencing so much joy along the way.
Our learning experiences for this half-term will be focussing on the seaside. We will learn about all things coastal, from the sea to cliffs, from rock pools to seagulls.
For our final half-term together, 'Forest School' will return starting Wednesday 10th June, so once again 'Wellbeing Welly Wednesdays' will become 'Wellbeing Wild Welly Wednesdays'.
Dates for the diary –
- Friday 26th June – Year 1 Class Assembly – You are invited into school to watch your child perform as part of the class.
- Wednesday 15th July – During the afternoon I would like to invite you into school to spend time with your child – details of the event will follow soon. I wanted to give you as much advanced warning as possible.
Wishing you all a lovely half-term.
Class 1 Reminders:
Your child will need a water bottle in school every day. This should only have water inside and should be labelled clearly with your child's name.
Please email any queries or messages to the school office: office@blakedownprimary.worcs.sch.uk your email will be forwarded to me.
Home reading – Please could home-reading books be returned to school each Thursday, your child will then have the opportunity to select a new book to read for pleasure at home. Each Friday your child will also be given a Little Wandle book. This is the book which they have already read 3 times at school.
PE for Year 1 for this half-term will be on a Thursday morning. Your child should come to school already dressed in their PE kit on this day.
Homework will be set for each half-term. Homework books will be sent out containing the term's activity grid at the start of each term, and you will then have 5/6 weeks to complete a range of chosen activities.
