Welcome to Year 1! 

I can't wait to hear all about the fun-filled adventures you have had with your families over the summer holidays. 

I am really looking forward to welcoming you to Year 1. You are going to experience so much joy through working hard and trying your best in all that you do to achieve success. I am sure that we will have lots of fun throughout the year alongside learning many new things too.

We are beginning our Autumn term with an animal theme!

 

Class 1 Reminders:

Your child will need a water bottle in school every day. This should only have water inside and should be labelled clearly with your child's name.

Home reading - Please could home-reading books be returned to school each Thursday, your child will then have the opportunity to select a new book to read for pleasure at home. Each Friday your child will also be given a Little Wandle book, this is the book which they have already read 3 times at school.

PE for Year 1 is on a Monday afternoon and Thursday morning. Your child should come to school already dressed in their PE kit on these days.

Homework will be set for each half-term. Homework books will be sent out containing the term's activity grid at the start of each term, and you will then have 5/6 weeks to complete a range of chosen activities.
