Good Morning Year 3
I hope you are all still safe and well at home.
Today we will be continuing to work on Stone Age Boy for Literacy and subtracting 3-digits from 3-digits in Numeracy.
PLEASE SEE THE ADDITIONAL VIDEO AND ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITY IF YOU ARE FINDING THE WHITE ROSE SHEET TOO DIFFICULT.
You may choose to use the PowerPoint of my reading of Stone Age Boy but I have also attached below the text from the story, should you choose to use that.
Watch the video linked below, solving the calculations as you go.
I have seen some great working out for these activities.
Thinking about the work we have done in class on synonyms. (Words that mean the same thing) Record on the sheet or in your book, words that mean the same as the words given on the sheet;
brown, little, big, old, rocks, simple, flat and sticks
If you have a dictionary and thesaurus at home you can use this to help or there is a link here to an online version.
Use the lists of synonyms you have created to write a setting description, describing the scene on page 15, inserted below.
Think about what you can see, hear, smell etc.
Mrs Marshall has sent you a music activity to complete. Have fun.
We are going to watch a short video and then have a go at Continuous Line drawing. It is designed to help your hand and eyes work closer together. It is unbelievably difficult to keep your pen or pencil moving on the paper without picking it up. Try your best to keep pen on paper as much as possible.
You will need to collect a couple of objects from around your house to look at and draw.
