WALT count vertices on 3D shapes.

Watch the video below from White Rose again but today focus on the learning about vertices on 3D shapes.

A vertex (singular) or vertices (plural) is a corner where edges meet.

Or think of it as the 'pointy bit.'

There is also a link to a BBC Bitesize lesson in case this is helpful to you.

Then complete the worksheet and send that to me at the end of the day so that I can see your super shape work and give you some feedback.

Year 2 - Week 8 - Lesson 2 - Count faces, edges and verticies on 3D shapes

This is "Year 2 - Week 8 - Lesson 2 - Count faces, edges and verticies on 3D shapes" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and...

Additional activities:

To check your understanding of vertices and edges on 3D shapes, you might like to make some 3D shapes using spaghetti and marshmallows, or playdough and straws (if you have them at home). You can send me pictures of the 3D shapes you have created. You could write the number of edges and vertices (properties) on paper next to them to show me your learning.
