NSPCC Number Day/ TT Rockstars

NSPCC Number Day / TT Rockstars

As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and inspiring to learn, the school took part in a friendly competition involving other schools in the UK for NSPCC Number Day by participating online on TTRockstars.  This is a programme that we use to support fluency of times tables from Year 2 upwards.

The children were given a time slot in the school day to take part and for every correct answer to a multiplication or division question gained, the children earned their class a point.  To ensure player wellbeing, there was a 60 minute cut off so that if children wanted to continue to play after school for longer than this time, their scores after this point would not count.

As part of the day, all the children were invited to dress up as rock stars whether they had access to the programme or not and to make a donation to the NSPCC.  We raised £116 - well done.

There was even a Mötley Crüe in the staffroom!
