Welcome Back to School: Monday 19th April 2020.
I hope that you all had wonderful Easter breaks.
I am looking forward to welcoming you all back to school.
Please note that our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Children should still come to school wearing their PE kit on these days and please bring a spare pair of shoes for use on the field.
As the weather starts to become warmer, children may bring a sun hat to school and should still bring a water bottle to drink from.
Please apply sun cream (if required) at home before your child comes to school.
See you on Monday!!!
Monday 8th March 2021.
Follow this link which explains why today is called Ash Wednesday and why you may see Christians wearing an ash cross on their forehead.
I hope that you are all having a wonderful half term so far. Follow the link below to learn about Shrove Tuesday (or Pancake Day) and Ash Wednesday. This marks the start of Lent for Christians.
I will be having some delicious pancakes later after my tea.
Remember that Lent isn't just about giving something up. You can also try and achieve something like keeping your bedroom tidy or be helpful to others.
Well done on all of the remote learning that has taken place so far everyone.
Do what you can and try not to worry.
Please make sure that you have seen the Parentmail sent out this evening in regards to a Pantomime that has been purchased for the children to watch.
I believe that you need to access this on the morning of Thursday 17th December.
It is fine to watch this first thing and then start your working day, as I would hate for anyone to miss out. I am going to leave our Literacy lesson as finishing your Mog stories to ensure that you can do all work set. If you have finished this, then you can always edit and improve your work, checking that you've used appropriate adverbs in some of your sentences.
Please do not worry about your snow globes. They are safe at school and you can still send your contributions in when we return in January and we will send them out to you during the first week back. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
We have nearly made it to Christmas! One last push!
Sending Christmas wishes,
Please look at the gallery on our class page as I have updated this with your moon buggy and cheesecake homework pictures.
Parents, I have also added another recommended reads list for Year 2, as I thought with Christmas coming up that this may be helpful.
I have also uploaded, 'A Guide to the Stuarts,' which is from English Heritage. As much of our history for this half term is from this period, I thought that the children may enjoy reading this at home as an optional additional homework activity.
Thank you for those that have already sent in a clean jam jar with lid. If you have not yet sent one in for your child, we need them in by the end of next week please (27th November) as we are going to be making something with them during the following week.
Lunch order forms have been sent home with your child today.
Have a great weekend!
Parents, please have a look at this website:
Click on the purple, 'My class login' button at the top right hand side of the page and enter these details:
class name: bcofe2
class password: Class2!
Through this you will be able to access free e-books. You can search for appropriate books by age.
This may be a useful tool to become familiar with as in the event of a bubble closure you can access additional age appropriate reading material to support your child.
Please also take a look at:
This is also a useful site which offers guidance for parents as well as free worksheets and activities.
October half term.
We hope that you have a restful and safe half term.
**Parents, please note that when we return to school our PE days have changed and children will now need to wear PE kits on Wednesday and Friday please.**
Our next theme is called, 'Fire, Fire!' and is about The Great Fire of London and The Gunpowder Plot. We will be learning about Diwali and Christmas and how light is used in these celebrations. We will also be covering fire safety as part of this theme.
We will be making something in class during this half term and will need each child to bring in a clean jam jar with its lid. Please send into school by Friday 27th November. Thank you.
This week, on World Teacher Day, I received a 'thank you' card via email.
I wanted to let you know that I have received it and it was wonderful to open.
The thought is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Don't forget to utilise the Bug Club login to access additional reading books and quizzes each week. At the moment, only two pupils are accessing these. Maybe, try logging on and have a look at the books and quizzes online this week when home reading records are returned on Monday.
Lunch order need to be returned by Wednesday 14th October please.
Flu Immunisation forms also need to be returned, even if your child isn't going to have it.
Monday: Children need to wear PE kit and bring green spelling books into school for their spelling test. Home readers and green spelling books are taken home today.
Tuesday: Homework books handed in please or work sent via email today.
Thursday: Children need to come to school dressed in PE kit. New homework set and sent out.
Friday: Home reading books handed in please to be changed.
Children may bring a water bottle and piece of fruit for their snack each day. Fruit is provided daily though for children via the free fruit scheme for KS1.
This information is also available on the updated 'parent briefing' powerpoint on this page. This can be located in the 'Parents' information' tab below.

We are looking forward to getting back to school and working with you all.
A few things for you to know:
