Welcome to Reception Class 

During our final half-term in Reception Class we are learning about growing and changing. We will be reflecting on our learning journey so far and thinking about our transition into Year 1.  We start this half-term with a trip to Lower Smite Farm, finding out what plants need to grow and what plants grow around us.

Phonics 

In phonics this week we are recapping... Phase 2 digraphs and Phase 3 long vowel sounds.

In phonics this week we are learning... Phase 4 CVCC and CCVC words with long vowel sounds. 

In phonics this week we are recapping tricky words...we, he, she, me, be, of, says, there, when, what and one. 

 

Reception Class Reminders

Children need a water bottle at school every day. This should only have water inside and should be labelled clearly with your child's name.

Individual sharing books please return with the reading record on a Thursday. A new book will then be issued and sent home on a Friday.

PE  this half term will be on a Wednesday with Mr Newbold. Please can you ensure that your child has a PE kit in school which can be kept on their peg and sent home at the end of each half-term. (Please make sure that all items of uniform are clearly labelled with your child's name.)

Forest school this half-term will be on a Tuesday, starting on Tuesday 3rd June with the last session on Tuesday 1st July.
