Class News.

Well time is really flying by and the summer term is already upon us.

For the first half term our class topic is 'In the Lab' which we will link to the story 'The Worst Witch' by Jill Murphy. We will be using our mathematical and scientific skills when we mix indoor and outdoor potions, write spells and create magic wands.

For the second half term our topic will be 'Come Fly With Me' where we will be learning about different countries and thinking about holiday destinations all over the world.

Our Year 2 SATs will begin in the week commencing 15th of May. It is really important that the children have a healthy breakfast and as much sleep as possible at all times, but especially around this time, so that they are happy, calm and focused.

We know that some children can have feelings of anxiety and doubt, therefore our Zippi's friends lessons will continue as normal.

Our 'Blakedown Values' underpin all aspects of school life and are revisited daily.  We have enjoyed composing our own prayers in response to events happening in our lives. Our fantastic 'Forgiveness Poems' are displayed in the 'My Space' area of the classroom.

The children have been part of the planning process as they always are and we have tried to plan really exciting and fun lessons this term where we can take advantage of the good weather and fantastic environment available to us. In the second half term we will be taking part in Forest School on Fridays, more news on this to follow.

Once again can we thank your for your continued support. If you do have any thoughts or points to raise please contact us at the earliest opportunity.
