Thursday 19th October

We have come to the end of our first half term in Class 2. It certainly has been a busy 7 weeks with every child working hard and giving their best in class. They all certainly deserve a hard earned break.

We are not setting formal homework for over the half-term break, however I must emphasise that this does not mean your child’s learning ceases.

There are many learning opportunities for them to take advantage of if you so wish, including:

  • Reading their school book or other suitable literature

  • Practising their 2x, 5x and 10x times tables with the corresponding division facts

  • Revising all the spellings they have learnt throughout this half term (see the Spelling tab on the class page of the website)

  • Visiting their local library to research our topic for next half term – Rainforests

  • Going on an autumn scavenger hunt

  • Catching a falling leaf

  • Playing a variety of Literacy and Numeracy based games on ‘Education City’

  • Writing a diary entry

  • Looking for food chains in different habitats

    Enjoy the break,

    Miss Edmunds and Mrs Schwartz
